:I Love Christmas, But I Hate Red Plaid:

The only plaid I have ever worn has gone on a comfy flannel (read: around the Christmas tree with a cup of cocoa) and it has not been red.

I saw in Glamour or something that red plaid was a trend for fall, but I just can’t get behind it, no matter how jolly I feel.

The color red, however? That is something I can definitely get behind.

Red = vibrant, powerful and extremely feminine.  It couldn’t be sexier and stronger if it tried. Totally fitting for the season I am dubbing powerFall. Hashtag the hell out of that.

Some powerFall red  (some from Spring 2014 NYFW) goodness:

:Hangin’ Tough:

The fashion forecast says TOUGH. Silver, gold, chrome, nickel and black crystal embellishments. Studs, studs, everywhere. Moto boots. HARDWARE. Sam Edelman has even come out with a jewelry line that is totally boss.

So not only did he make us fall in love with his girly spikes and studs, he has gone ahead and made us lust after his jewels. As with all of Sam’s designs, he makes it easy to dress around the accessory. Slap on a pair of leather skinnies, a white graphic tee, wear a fishtail braid, paint some red on those lips, Sam’s jewels and you are good to go. Feeling girly? Top knot, LBD, pink lips, and my guy Sam. That is all you need. Tough and incredibly chic is the look. The best part about his jewels and shoes? They are mixable. Sam Edelman makes sure (yay!) that none of us will get too matchy matchy. That would be boring.

Wouldn’t you rather be mixed media in a matchy matchy world?

Clothing wise, NYFW has been chock full of tough chic, naturally. For example, Kenneth Cole. He added the perfect splash of color to each ensemble, and the colors went with the whole tough chic vibe. I’d love for someone to point out an outfit where a red lip simply won’t go. That’s right. Impossible. Leave it to Kenneth Cole to be provocative, yet relaxed and feminine. Seriously amazing.

Hangin’ Tough. Thanks, New Kids on the Block.

:Just When We All Thought Summer Was Coming To An End:

janelle-monae-cover-650…Janelle Monae releases Electric Lady, an album that is guaranteed to run on a constant loop in our heads, reminding us that summer is most certainly not over and that even when it is over, the party sure as hell isn’t.

To top it off (as if she had to!), she duets with sultry Solange Knowles on the title track, “Electric Lady”, the melodic funktress Erykah Badu on the sprightly tune “Q.U.E.E.N” and the oh so sexy Miguel on the slow jam “PrimeTime”.

It is hard to pick a fave, but “Dance Apocalyptic” is a sure fire way to make sure we all get on our feet, because (duh) summer isn’t over until Janelle Monae says it’s over.

(Note: This video is super fun but the wardrobe is to die for. And look at all of that finger flair. What a dream.)

Oh and by the way, is this cover photo fiercefiercefierce, or what?

:Being Felicity Jones:

Felicity is one lucky gal. Not only is she going to be in Girls next season where she’ll be able to wear even more ridiculously beautiful bitchin’ clothing, but she has already been able to wear some fashion gems.

In Cheerful Weather for the Wedding, which was set in the 1940’s, (watch it on your Netflix instant stream, the production design and scenery is absolutely breathtaking), she was definitely able to get her fashion swag on.

I mean, just look!

This dress was my personal favorite. That open back is to die for! Props to costume designer Camille Benda, who is not lacking experience. You go, girl.

:Pretty Little Liars Style Pick 4.12:

OMG. OMG. O.M.G. This is super duper late, I know but the process of moving back to LA has been a bit of an undertaking. SO HAPPY TO BE BACK!

Who thinks Ezra is “A”? Who thinks he is working for “A”?

Honestly though,  I think that anyone could have been “A” and I think it was written that way. I bet you even Mr. Harding didn’t know he was “A” until this season. Just my opinion.

Dear PLL Stylists:

All the girls looked awesome in this episode. Loved everything.

:My Studio:

Hey girls and boys!

My studio in LA is open starting on 9/2.

I don’t do headshot formatting or any special publicity formatting, but I charge $20 for a 30 minute session. I have music for every taste (pretty much), but if you want to bring your iPod you are more than welcome!

You bring the CD so I can upload the photos right then and there.

What you do with them is up to you! This is also ATTN: your dogs.

If you or anyone you know needs some pics (or if you have any questions), shoot me an e-mail with your deets.

:Time Will Fly When I’m Moving:

So hold tight, with the exception of my PLL finale style pick, I will return sometime in the next couple of weeks (when I get internet in my FABULOUS new apartment). I will leave you with this sentiment.
